The Orange Street newsletter, 4th July 2005.

News.

Three gigs in June to report on. First up was our first trip to "The Hampshire Rose" in Purbrook. Our fist gig here, and we have been invited back to play again on Saturday 29th October. next was another trip to the North Star in Gosport, not as busy as usual due to Bad Manners playing locally on the same night. Final gig of the month was a long trip to Derbyshire for the "Run to the shires" scooter rally. We really enjoyed ourselves and it looked like the audience did too. Pictures from the Shires and the Hampshire Rose are on the website (under the reviews/pics section).

We have already played two gigs in July, but news of them will be in next months newsletter. We still have three more though, Southsea Bandstand on Sunday 24th July, then two gigs on the same day. We open the proceedings on Saturday, then travel to Twickenham to the Red Lion where we are playing with The High Watts and Well-a-live. This should be an interesting day for us.

We booked some new gigs in June as well. These are as follows:

The Heron, Leigh Park on 26th August.

*****The Blue Lagoon, Hilsea Lido on 12th November (charity bash, details on website).*****

Gaz's Rockin Blues, Thurs 11th August.

The Red Lion, Totton, Sat 17th September.

The Malthouse, Timsbury, Sun 25th September.

The Hampshire Rose, Sat 29th October.

We will also be testing a new way of delivering newsletters and information this month and are looking for volunteers to help test and comment on the system. If you would like to help, please email and let us know.

Thanks this month go to Richie and Rich from Urban Rhythm for standing in for us at the Hampshire Rose gig, and also to the increasing number of picture takers at gigs (Heidi, Melanie, Olivia and Madboo).

More gigs have been added and a few dates have changed. The most up to date list is always on the website, along with addresses and maps of how to get to venues. The current list if gigs is as follows.

Southsea Bandstand (with Autumn Stone).

Saturday 30th July

Badfest. We are playing during Saturday afternoon.

and then on to

The Red Lion, Twickenham, all day scooter bash.
