The Orange Street newsletter, 6th May 2005.

Gig News.
Two gigs during April to report on. First up we were back at the North Star in Gosport. Then on to our first headline slot at Mr Kyps in Poole which turned out to be better than we could have possibly imagined. Thanks to all those who made both nights good.

There are four gigs coming up during May. First up is on Friday 6th at Wellworthy's club in Lymington with support from top punk band Joeys Dead. We worked with Joeys Dead just before last Christmas, and one of the first things we tried to do was get them down for a gig. Next up is our first appearance at Club Ska supporting Bad Manners, tickets are already selling very quickly for this. Friday 20th May we are at Talking Heads in Southampton with our good friends Urban Rhythm. Final gig of the month we are back at the Portsmouth Post Office club, this was a cracking night last year, we are expecting this one should be every bit as good.

Other news.
Mike ran the London Marathon during April. His time was four hours and twenty minutes, and he has raised a sizeable sum for Cancer Research UK. He would like to thank Ventana Systems UK,  Solent Sewing Machines, Trident Blinds, 1st 4 UK Artists and SIS Jewsons for their support and sponsorship.

We have also launched an extensive range of merchandise. Well we have some badges for sale. We have opened up an online store where you can buy t-shirts etc, but shipping costs could be high, and you might have to pay import duty.

We have also cancelled a gig at the Railway Inn on the 21st May. Sorry about this, there is a charity event at the Portsmouth Post Office Club on the same evening that you should lend your support to instead. This is in memory of Alan Edbrooke, £3 to get in on the door, a night of Ska, 2-tone and Northern Soul, 7-11:30pm. Contact Martin for more details on 0774 947 4158.

Finally, thanks once again to Melanie for all the pics.
